have you seen her when she's especially buttmad whenever okubo draws maka with curves? one time one our mutual friends posted a page from the manga featuring the main characters striking badass poses gushing about it and she came in and ruined it by bitching about the way maka was drawn.
it's not a rush doodle. this is the best she can pull off.
it wouldn't be anything worth criticizing if she wasn't so critical of other people. in her mind, everyone else does it wrong and only she understands anatomy, composition, and how best to portray characters.
yeah it surprises me because she should know better after being a fan of the series for so long that the art was bound to change. serial manga artist almost always get better the longer they're at it and okubo is a perfect example of that.
i don't know what she has against maka having curves anyway i mean... women have curves. and she's not even that curvy, nor is it done in a way that overly objectifies her.
Well...they don't all get better. There's almost always some stylistic shift but it's not always for the better /glances at Bleach
But no seriously there is no reason Maka shouldn't have some curve to her. The jokes about her looking like a boy are just that - jokes - and not meant to be taken as a literal representation of reality.
Not to mention they're aging and are right in the middle of puberty. Her staying completely flat as a board and straight up and down sides would've been pretty unrealistic, no matter how petite she is.
