Very cliquey and elitist, but that's not the problem: you can play or let play with whomever you want in your game. The problem isn't even that they highlandered their characters and went around bashing anyone else who played from CLAMP on the anon and the now defunct rp secrets communities.

It's that they did all that and were mostly bland, or OOC to boot. Look down on everyone else all you want, but at least be better than them, Christ's sake.

I didn't know about the behind-the-scenes bashing, but I can believe it. The cliquey-ness is what gets me, along with the overemphasis on shipping. Makes it extremely hard for a new player to get much traction. With a game that small, I know you can wind up in a circle-jerk death spiral, but good lord. The mod plays more than a dozen characters, a few other people have around eight or ten. They want more people, and more characters, but when you bar someone from applying for a character because you don't ship what the mod does, you're not really being a welcoming place.

It's mostly done through the monthly concrit meme. And even then, it's hard to know how many are actually involved, because crit is required to be anonymous. But usually several people write multi-paragraph comments (sometimes needing to split between comments) while no one else on the meme gets crit (or it's just an "omg i <3 u" circlejerk). And it's done month after month after month. Granted, the player usually does have activity problems, but it's a bit nuts.

The mod is a big-time SJW and is also rabidly "anti-fandom hate". Though "fandom hate" usually means it's something she doesn't agree with.

Ewwwww. I once thought of apping to Kiseki since some of my RP acquintances were there, but then I decided not to. I dodged a fucking MASSIVE bullet, it seems; I admittedly I'm kinda flaky, but a toxic and bitchy environment like that wouldn't have helped.

This is where the waters get muddy, anon, because I don't want to be unfair and claim the people who were accusing Kisekians of this weren't batshit. I would like it disclaimed henceforth: everyone involved was fucking batshit.

Okay, now that we got that covered: the juiciest bit I heard was when the Kiseki group allegedly went after the Polychromatic Magic Knight Rayearth cast by constantly namedropping them as shit on anon communities, or bashing people who praised them (and who were probably the Polychromatic cast themselves, because lbr that cast sucked.) The Polychromatic MKR cast was convinced Kisekians were after them, and I recall one of them had some weird screencaps of a Kiseki player (iirc, a mod?) anonfailing on rps.

Then there was some weird bullshit when anon communities, which still cared about CLAMP for some obscure fucking reason, wanted to know which CLAMP casts were any good; TRC, XXXholic and X were still played from quite a bit across multiple games, so some anons namedropped casts like Somarium's, etc. ( There were multiple casts namedropped as good, but I only recall Somarium for some reason ). Incidentally, every single cast was consequently bashed (with or without reason) following the namedrop, except Kiseki's casts. Sometimes, the bashing of the other casts even included comparisons to Kiseki's presumably superior casts, and how the other games' casts should learn from Kiseki's. (I remember in particular that soul_campaign's Kamui received this advice.)

Some anons also came out of the woodwork and confessed they were bullied when they played in Kiseki, that they were encouraged to bash other casts by Kiseki players and even by Kiseki mods, and that they had their characters revoked on dubious terms.

This is all I've got. Notably, there has never been much by way of actual proof that Kiseki players did all this shit; it's mostly been a lot of really questionable instances that together incriminate Kiseki players. Usually I'd say that's enough, because you don't get so much fucking smoke without any fire, but the thing is, a lot of casts got so paranoid of the Kiseki group, they would outright tell new castmates to expect bashing from Kiseki - so when you have groups predisposed to the mentality that KISEKI IS OUT TO GET THEM!!! is hard to say how much of what later went down was Kiseki, and how much just various anons who happened to think those casts were not okay, coupled with a decent dose of paranoia. If you ask me, Kiseki players probably did initiate a lot of shit, but I honestly doubt they did all, or even most of what they got accused of.

Hope that satisfies some of your deet cravings, and sorry for the memory lapses, or if I got some of the game casts mixed up (it really has been a while).

I know the Yue and Sakura at Somarium are terrible, but what about the rest of the cast? I'm just sad that those I listed suck. :(

from what I've seen, the xxxHolic part of the cast (Yuuko and Watanuki) are both pretty decent

Yeah, I was considering the cast then I saw everything that happened and now I'm not so sure anymore. I know Yue dropped but I don't hear good things from Sakura either.

honestly mostly of them aren't very ic to begin with in somarium in general, much less the clamp cast. it can still be fun, but i've been there and had a lot of friends there and overall the tag quality is slow and not very good, and it still adheres to the old 2007-era standards of ic, which focuses more on fun and ic drama than it does on actually being in character.

it's also a really weird buttpat culture. it's... it's like a time machine, anon.
