As a mod, this isnt exactly a bs reason. We dont want to read ten pages of backstory, you need to find a good balance between info and just way too much detail.

i'd reject a too-long app too.

Why rejection outright though? The person obviously knows their stuff but doesn't know how to edit down. Revisions should be enough.

maybe the writing itself was terrible/boring and this was the easiest way to not have to deal with that aspect

that would make it even more of a bullshit rejection

Then skim it? Don't reject someone because you don't want to read.

I have a limit to how much wall of text ill endure. Granted ive only ever asked for revisions on such a thing so far but i know of another, dif game mod that did the same and had the player go "i dont know what you mean by shorten it"

Too long DEFINITELY exists. Back when I modded, I once read a 13 comment long app. And each comment was at the length limit. I still don't know why I put myself through that. I was ready to stab myself in the eyeballs when I was done.

ahahahahaha back when I was at one game, someone posted a 30+ part app.

Not even joking.

What. No. Just. No. Please tell me they were told to shorten that shit. I think if I ever got an app like that, they'd be getting a revision request that says, "Ain't nobody got time to read this." Because the 13 comment app took the better part of two days… and a lot of that was just trying to get through the massive walls of text.
