I think there's a pretty long app submitted to exitvoid a while back but I forgot what it was.
And history sections shouldn't be longer than around 2,000~3,000 at the most. I'll give leeway if the canon is really long (one piece and american comics come to mind) but otherwise you should be able to summarize it in under 3,000 words.
