I call people out on this right away, so people know what they're up to. Just all, "Hey [name], I thought you said you didn't want to talk about this topic? Have you changed your mind? :)" Kill 'em with kindness, seriously. How can they respond to that? If they say, "No," then everyone with any sense at all will basically sit there all, "....Then why are you here?"
If they say, "Yes," then if they try to complain later... well it says right there that they did want to talk about it! So again, anyone with sense will say, ".....But you wanted to talk about it. You said so."
It's also a great way to trim ye olde plurklist, cuz if you don't wanna put up with that shit you'll know exactly who to unfollow/unfriend beyond that person. That'd be the people who are all (cozy) and (unsure) and "oh poor bb! how mean of them to drag you into that awful topic! [deadcat]"
