I can't claim to having any fluency in Japanese, but... to be honest, I haven't noticed this? :|a There are times here and there when she does it as an obvious "joke", but genuinely curious, how does she twist it around? She's always made it obvious that she can't stand when the scanlators are incompetent in their translating, so I can't imagine why she'd intentionally mess up her own. And based on what we know about the series, I haven't picked up on anything that felt weird or off about her translations, so... I dunno.

'Deliberately twisting' is a bit overdramatic on my part. But she laces her commentary in so closely with her translation that it can be really hard to separate at times. Like when she tried starting up some MORAL CRUSADE about that one line near the end of the Book of Eibon arc when Stein was like 'learning everything at once would be bad you guys' she rendered it as 'there are some things we're not meant to know' which is technically a valid translation but is hella misleading because it makes him come off as anti-science when actually he's making a philosophic point about the value of progression and discovery, not merely knowledge, so basic that even Bleach managed to get it right a year before.

Ooh yeah, I see what you mean. But yeah, like I said, I just ignore her commentary and opinions and stuff because... what you said haha. I'm just not so willing to stick solely with the scanlations because bleh, so reading her translations is just five minutes of frowning at her a lot and then I go on with whatever and it's not a big deal. Fortunately most of the SE rpers I know don't take her word as law and I don't either, so no skin off my back.
