i think it's fitting? i don't know all the canons but it looks like the heroes picked gatomon and the villains or antagonists picked blackgatomon. while i didn't pick gatomon, it's not like i looked at other people's selection before picking my own so maybe it's a coincidence or one of the only digimon available from their rookie form to get to the ultimate/mega forms they wanted?
