If the reserve period covers the period they're allowed to try again (without having to ask for an extension on the reserve), then no, that seems pretty normal to me. They've already put in the effort to apping the character, and are indicating that they want to try again.

If they pull this more than once, though, fuckem. Or if it's a game where you can't submit challenge apps.

this. the game i'm thinking of, that two week period would be within the period for reserves and apps. ie: they'd still be closed to other people during that period, so they're just not pulling the reserve but will be putting in revisions/another app before their initial reserve would have ended.

i'd have a different view if that wasn't the case, i think.

Challenges, to my knowledge, are a no go in this case. And reserves also last two weeks.

So... What's the problem? The reserve period is covers it. They're showing intent and determination.

Okay, if challenges aren't a thing, and they reserved the character the previous round (where they apped and were declined), then yeah that's a bit questionable. It means that's two rounds in a row they've prevented someone else from applying, which isn't fair.

You should check with your mods about the challenge rules in a case like this. It might be that they don't have any different treatment for a post-decline reserve because they've never had one before.

How is it questionable, honestly? It's not like they immediately went and re-reserved within minutes. And aren't people always saying here if the slot is free, then it's free game?

seven hours isn't very long. it might as well have been immediate.

even if it had been, so what? they want to app this character. they want to be sure their reserve isn't taken by someone else.

sure, it'd be nice if they could actually get in and play without the fuss, but it doesn't sound like they're breaking or bending rules. the worst offense is blocking anyone else from apping this character which... is sort of the point of reserves?

Honestly not seeing how it's questionable. They're within the right to reserve the character if they want, especially so if the game doesn't do app challenges, and they were told that they can put their application back in again in two weeks. Putting the re-reserve in several hours later might possibly mean they were waiting to see if anyone else would reserve the character.

Apparently, no one did so they put their re-reserve back in.

The slot for the character was free, so it was free game for them to re-reserve so they could try again in two weeks.
