I've had so many friends who'd defend her and make excuses and say 'she's really not that bad once you get to know her'

and then later they'll admit 'yeah no she's a huge asshole wtf was I thinking' after Nemo crosses the line

the crazy doesn't really come out until you get one of nemo's long, tl;dr manifestos about how you're a horrible person who's driving her to suicide.

for the record, i don't have a problem with nemo. we're not friends anymore, but we decided on mutual terms.
