unfortunately i do go to conventions and apparently a lot of the same ones...? we apparently first met at otakon, albeit briefly since they seem to remember better than i do.
i know we're both going to katsucon and we're both going to be cosplaying from aot. i guess the solution is to just build a posse of friends to keep a proper distance...? i mean, they already know what i look like so i've sort of lost that opportunity for distancing, even if i do entirely new cosplays.
yeah same here. we share some fandoms and I ran into them again the last con we both attended. ugh sucks you got roped into the same situation :(
aot might be big enough that you can avoid them for a majority of the time. i wouldn't worry if you run into them at a big meet up/photoshoot since those are overwhelming anyway. when we shared fandoms usually we just said quick hellos and I slipped away. katsucon is on the smaller side so dodging might be harder but if all else fails say that you need to run back to your hotel room/car/somewhere.
posse of friends definitely helps in this situation because 1) they give you some safety and 2) they give you more excuses to get away/not meet up with alphie again.
this all sounds extremely elaborate but i know they get violent with people so dealing with alphie takes more caution than the average wanker. whatever you do don't end up in a situation where you're alone with them. ESPECIALLY if alcohol is involved. alphie is notoriously terrible when drinking.
