The point I'm trying to make is that it seems like a pointless rule. It doesn't serve any purpose at all other than to alienate potential players and invite more elitism that we could really stand to do without.

This has been proven false time and time again. Anime doesn't dominate games. Most I've seen have had a fairly equal balance.

If you don't want to thread against them, fine, you don't have to. That's stated in the game premise, too. But banning them outright is just silly.

people complain about the medium divide in games. if you don't have dividable mediums, there won't be a divide. what's the point in allowing in two totally separate camps of players, most of who are never going to cross the line and play with each other?

this rule makes no difference to me because i don't really care about mediums one way or another. i don't mind tagging with manga characters, but my la girls have never got good cr with any of them, so i probably won't miss their absence, either.

Except I've seen plenty of games where there isn't a divide and people are perfectly chill tagging with whoever? Why do we always have to assume the worst about the other party? Not every anime character is a kawaii uguu moeblob and not every live action character is a bland white dude from the flavor of the month vampire detective wolf teen drama. Just because you never got good CR doesn't mean it can't happen.

People who are going crazy because they can't play in one game out of all the games in DWRP seem really childish to the people who can't play in most of the games in DWRP.
