Frankly the faction that is shrieking the loudest are the entitled anime people.

How dare they want to play in a game they find interesting only to be told no at the door.

It might be their house and their rules, but they still look like dicks doing it.

None of them even said they found the concept interesting, it was an immediate shitstorm of HOW DARE THEY?!

Do you realize this happens daily at every game?

Your character can be taken. The setting can be unsuitable for your character. Your character can be too young. Your character can be too alien. There may be someone you have OOC issues with playing your character's best friend, or love interest, or brother. The game might not allow your type of character. Your writing might not meet the app standard. The mod might reject you to let their friend in. You might get app challenged, and lose. There are tons of reasons why someone might get told "no" at the door of a game they're interested in.

You are not entitled to be able to play in any game you want.

nayrt, but the arguments you're making here aren't really comparable to what they're saying, but only because, barring the mod letting their friend in, they're perfectly rational reasons for denying someone from a game.

Don't get me wrong, ayrt is kind of being really dumb, and, personally, as someone who actually plays from anime, I really think everyone else needs to calm the fuck down. Yes, the mods choice is denying an entire medium, yes, that is not doing the whole medium divide any favours. I can't see anything objectively reasonable about banning an entire medium, but that ultimately doesn't matter, because it's their game and they can do whatever the fuck they want to.

So yeah, in the end, again, I still agree with you. Nobody is entitled to play in any game, but in this case, it's not because of any understandable lack of suitability, but because the people making it can do whatever the hell they want. Everyone else will just have to deal.

People are told no at the door to games all the time. It's called rejection. This isn't serious business, it's a game.
