People aren't saying they're genuinely interested in apping in. They're talking about spamming to stick it to the mods. There's a big difference between someone wanting to play a character and someone doing it just to be a dick.
Personally if I knew even one of the reasons somebody was apping a character was to try to be an asshat to the mods, I wouldn't want them in a game with me. Wanky assholes generally make shitty game mates.
