i think that's more popular media anime. if you want to play this game, 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of any medium is misogynistic to some degree, even if it's toted as being forward-thinking and feminist. in some ways, i think with anime and manga when there are strong and smart women it's more meaningful because the culture surrounding them is less accepting of certain things in women aside from it being a fetish
la can be misogynistic on occasion, while anime outright is.
and the pedophilia thing does make a difference because in anime you either have young girls who are objectified/sexualized or allegedly 'adult' women who are portrayed as so young and simpering that they are basically very small children in an adult body. but if you want to white knight for a medium that treats an entire gender like sexy babies, by all fucking means.

Take a look at the portrayal and even design of women in most anime. They're blushy blushy and usually 'weaker' than the main character and less powered and they're usually drawn with huge tits or a womanly body even when they're supposed to be 12 or 13. And so many short skirts. So many short skirts.
Quite honestly I think a lot of it is based on some cultural differences too.
