The Jennifer/Derek thing was eventually explained away as 'magic'. This show, covering it's poor attempt at pacing with questionable consent.
I don't know whether I want the love interest to die, just because so many female characters end up dead on this show. Maybe have it as a one off thing that's never brought up again instead.
