tbh his death scene was kind of robbed in the film anyway seeing as Fury lied about the Captain America cards to give the team a "stake" or whatever his reasoning had been. That, and it felt like a standard Whedon death scene and for me, Whedon deaths feel cheap.
But mainly, I'm not surprised that Coulson will show up in the TV show seeing as Clark Gregg is known as a television actor and voices the cartoon version of Coulson. I wouldn't mind it if he's revealed to be alive in the TV show (as opposed to it being a flashback scenario), but they just never bring him back to the movies ever again.
