Update: I've talked to her about this issue. She agreed she was way over-invested and is going to step off on that front. Yes, even the 'me/you' thing. The thing to remember is that she really does try and want to do well. It may seem like she panics every time she gets crit, but that's not because she's reacting badly to the crit itself, it's because she feels horrible that she was making anyone unhappy or uncomfortable.
I can't promise it will stick but just know it HAS been addressed.
