correction: they tried to do that and it was caught and spread around on the news that they were doing it. this is not a secret conspiracy.

it getting spread around in the news doesn't actually stop these things and I never said it was a conspiracy. you're just stupid/naive if you think the history kids get in classrooms is un-tampered with.

um, anon, the book you're talking about was only approved of last month and the issue is still being fought in the sense that some board members are looking to change their criteria to make sure this doesn't happen again.

but again, this was last month. only a couple weeks ago, to be exact. exactly where are they being passed out to students? what schools have been given this text book, after the school year has already started? i won't bother waiting for an actual list.

the point that you keep dodging is this was a symptom of a continuous problem. multiple times the TBE has approved of textbooks that misrepresent history, usually in subtle rewordings that change the entire meanings of what lessons we are meant to take from certain events, if not leaving them out altogether. this has happened for decades, the moses story is just an example of the fact that it's still happening and you are, once again, naive if you don't think that book will be in classrooms when ready. it's already happened on multiple occasions and no amount of public outcry stops it because everyone fucking forgets about it and moves on after a few months.

except in every article i've read, they've mentioned that the books have been heavily edited already. so to claim that nobody can do anything about it is disingenuous at best.

edited in what way? for better? for worse? do you know?

for the better. sections denying global warming, Civil War revisionism that tried to give the "it was about states' rights!" excuse was removed, as well as negative comments about Civil Rights activists.

are you brain damaged, anon?

Re: ddda

(Anonymous) 2014-12-11 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
nope

anon didn't do the research that these books are edited for the good and stopped/question for the really bad and keeps complaining about the books being passed even though no student has their hands on it yet and honestly will not.
