One of the apps they were supposedly familiar with, and approved, references literal fandom bullshit that isn't present in the source material and purports it as canon fact. Still pissed about that.

But considering the character in question, I'm not surprised. No points for guessing who.

Well, it's also riddled with typos, lazy shorthand, and really poor grammar, so one would think a decent mod would've caught that before anything else instead of pushing it on through blindly. My faith in their ability to review (and in this case, re-review) is already kinda waning here, to be honest.

And I still think allowing player and CRAUs was a mistake, but that's a whole 'nother discussion.

there are sentence fragments in the personality section but her voice seems fine in the samples. i'm not seeing the issues, anon.

Let me point out a few of the instances I noticed.

that's just up to that point in the app, but you can't seriously tell me that it's just fragment sentences and that her voice is fine.

as frustrating as that is, anon, believe me I know, it's also canon. Natasha expresses distaste for societal gender standards, but happily takes advantage of them for the sake of various situations seen in the films. That's a canon point, not writer fail.

i agree with that, but the app itself was written choppily with grammatical and spelling errors and i guess it's a ymmv opinion on her voice, which i think is pretty much off. i'm willing to bet the person who write it is esl, because that's the only way i can make sense of the errors throughout it and the word choice and sentence structure.

it should have gotten revisions, certainly. I feel like the 'pass/fail' approach doesn't work for apps, as the only options the mods seem to give themselves is 'accept' or 'reject'. And a few of these needed to be sent back before giving a final decision.

you're only partially right there.

natasha hates gender stereotypes but likes having an advantage. she will use gender stereotypes to her advantage against someone, especially if she knows they believe in them, but that doesn't mean she likes them. the people she can use them against don't hold a very high standard with her, either.

recognizing the difference and why she would use them despite holding them in contempt herself is actually what someone who plays natasha should be capable of doing and explaining.

I can agree with that, it feels frustrating not because it's bad, but because it's pretty cliche. That's on the canon, though, not the RPer

That was one example. Explain to me how the Freddy's guy made it in. There are good apps that have been cleared, yes, but that is one of the questionable ones.

You would have said the same about any app I brought up, so this is kind of a dumb thing to dispute. I'm invested in quality. This is not quality.

Idk why the phone guy got in and I didn't dispute that. There are typos in that app. They should have gotten revised by then why pick on them specifically over the OC that got in or the Phone Guy? People bag on mcus constantly and i'm just wondering why you chose the nat to target and not the phone guy when he legit doesn't have enough canon to even app.

I was just taking a random guess at who the person was talking about. Neither the OC nor the Phone Guy have their apps up in their journals to read over, so judging what they wrote is impossible unless you're an app mod. I wasn't 'picking' on them, I was merely pointing out what was available to see. I like MCUs and I would actually like to be in a game with decent ones. The Nat was picked because her app is in her journal. That's it. Conspiracy closed.

I'm not mad. I'm just frustrated at what looks like a good game letting in low-quality characters.

my money's on "silver general" sephiroth. which makes this especially disappointing because the mods are apparently canon familiar and yet that's nowhere in the original script and shinra makes a point of emphasizing it doesn't use a traditional ranking system. it has never been a thing outside dumb fanfic, ever.

never mind the personality section reading like a bad bullet point list, jarring fragments and comma splices, the mun apparently not knowing that apostrophes =/= plural and a bunch of other really glaring mistakes. it should've gotten revisions at the very least for sheer sloppiness.
