People who don't bother explaining canon-specific terms or organizations. Never take it for granted that the mod team is familiar with your canon just because it's popular.
even as a homestuck player I hated processing apps for it, because inevitably they'd be all kernelsprite captchalogue moiraillengiance bone bulge dreambubble dancestor and I'd have to sigh heavily and then translate for everyone else. write your app as though you're explaining your character to someone who knows nothing about them and where they came from, since it's likely to be the truth.
Yeah, usually you can work out one or two terms from context clues, and I don't get annoyed about that. I've never seen JJBA, but I can get a good idea of how Stands work just from reading the powers section. I'm talking about the people who just take it for granted that everyone knows their canon and how the weird mechanics work and write under that assumption, leaving me wondering what the fuck they're talking about.
I haven't modded a game for a while, but last time I did I was seriously considering adding a separate "your canon for dummies" section, because while I think it's great when people are allowed to link a wiki for character history and the like, some wikis assume you're already steeped in the canon. I would still occasionally get lost.
this was one of the things i hated most when i used to be an app-processing mod. bonus points if it's a canon that throws in a lot of gratuitious non-english words (looking at you, bleach, and your random spanish and german and wtfever), or comes up with its own terminology for common words, or a japanese canon where fansubbers/scanlators leave stuff untranslated and that's the version most players play from.
this also applies when referring to canon events or characters without any context- sometimes i was able to figure things out later on, but a lot of the time i was left scratching my head. if it's important enough to bring up in your app, then please explain it- you don't need to go into multi-paragraph detail, but a simple sentence or two helps me put things in context.
