i actually really do think it started going downhill around where the anime left off, since a lot of random running around with no real purpose other than LOL BASEMENT happened right after with maybe the occasional scrap of a plot hint (read: horrible dialogue alluding to who even knows what) thrown in

and isayama's dumb fetishes on full disgusting display, can't forget those

seriously. i still think it would have been much better if eren had died and armin and mikasa dealt with the fallout, becoming the new main characters and growing as a result. i mean, eren has basically been useless for the past, what, two years or so? he just isn't necessary.

isayama doesn't care about anything other than raking up the sweet sweet fujobux from levi fans. and eruri fans.

so you know maybe if anyone OTHER than levi got actual screentime and meaningful development something interesting might happen. and i say that as someone who generally likes the character, please let someone else have the focus for a while.

I really liked it and even enjoyed the pacing up to about... the fight with the colossal titan and the armored titan near the walls? everything after that has been a let down. i'm still here because once i'm curious about how things will shake out i'll fucking read garbage forever, but i can't wait til this arc is finished.
