As long as you don't tell them you plan to drop when they tell you they're thinking about dropping, then it's no big deal. Just do it. They shouldn't have any more say in what you do than you have in what they do.

it's a tough situation. i apped into a game to play with someone else, but that doesn't mean i didn't also enjoy the game and my other CR. just that without this other person around, i wouldn't have any motivation to stay. i wound up dropping of my own volition (they stayed in the game) just because i realized my heart wasn't fully in it anymore.
