The thing that gets me about this fandom is that not even six months ago tumblr users were talking about how the show is racist because the 'smart' gem (Pearl) is coded as white, and the wild and strong gems (Amethyst and Garnet) are coded as black, and how this makes the creators racist.

Well, I was using her as a more recent example. It was more aimed at whiteknighting in general. You could name anyone: Mike, Nemo, Hellion, so on, and they all have a group of people who will coddle and defend them like they're completely blind to the legitimatcy of peoples' dislike of them.
Though I will admit White2 or whomever she is was definitely the first I've seen publicly hide behind her religion where a large group of people could see it. Which could just be me. She's a complete insult to her own faith.

Exactly. It reminds me of spiteknighting if I'm remembering that properly. A bully goading people because they know they'll lash back. Basically proving they win with their superiority with having made you lash out. Obviously that applies to trolls, too, but I mean more specifically people who will make others lash out just to prove that you're still the bad guy. "All I did was shove you" sort of thing.

dropped out of my game, quit plurk and am now only focusing on the few psls i have going. so sick of plurk culture and dwrp game culture. feels nice to be away from it all.
As someone who voted yes to powers already, I did so with the assumption that the mods aren't going to let them be completely untethered and overrun the plot. That would be sorta stupid. Personally, I would like the opportunity to use them within the confines of the setting as far as what the Capitol or D13 will allow, not simply having them 24/7 and not being completely restricted from using them.
