It's based on his father saying he never saw James after the SH incident, but that's incredibly stupid because do you seriously think he'd keep his real name or old life in the "Leave" ending, considering he murdered his wife and now had a little kid to watch after?
His writing is terrible, but I actually find his concepts and characters to be pretty imaginative and well-rounded. Good luck trying to argue that, though.
