oh my god I put my foot in my mouth constantly it's the worst

when I was a preteen I told my mom 'don't touch me' in public because I saw my friend tell her mom that and they laughed about it... my mom did not find it amusing

more recently I was volunteering as a ticket taker and an asian woman came like three hours early to get her ticket, so I recommended some places where she could go get coffee or something to wait since the venue wasn't open yet

she came back later and I unthinkingly asked her for her ticket again and she got pissed and said 'yeah because we all look alike huh'
