i don't know about you, but even though sometimes i hate my family, they're still my family. which means i sure as hell wouldn't ditch them with some psychotic nutjob threatening violence

presumably trace is actually human with actual human bonds and still gives a shit

except sometimes those family members are assholes (either by being abusive or just don't care) and they don't deserve that kind of loyalty, anon.

when you got family members that treat you like shit and would rather blame you for the nutjob being a nutjob instead of actually helping you get to safety (trace's grandmother refused to give her money to help her get away to somewhere safer), you don't need fucking enemies.

just because they are "family" doesn't mean shit. "family" will stab you in the back and leave you for dead just as easily as any stranger. this isn't always the case, i know. there are families that DO have strong bonds but it's just plain wrong to think all of them are like that, anon.

and sometimes you're only hearing one side of the story, and the way they're presenting it doesn't make a lot of sense, especially when they're begging money.

sorry if that's how your family is. but it's also just plain wrong to assume any given family WON'T pull together if there's a crisis going on even if they hate each other the rest of the time

in this case according to trace's story, her gran was still blaming her for getting into a bad situation, up until boyfriend actually threatened said old lady and then she got with the program
