i really don't give a shit if this outs me but i was in the salt group. all we were asked was how much we were willing for our characters to be hurt on a scale of 1-5. our loss was a done deal and had the thread actually progressed we would have been captured and tortured until mana came to rescue us.
we didn't even get the option to escape on our own. we would have had another npc swoop in to save the day.
Salt was handled extremely poorly and I saw complaints from every player in that group. It made me opt out signing on for events. What's the point if I can't even play out getting hurt?
it really was. i signed up because honestly i didn't mind getting hurt. what i didn't expect was having everything i did be ineffective and then, if things progressed as planned, just have to lie there and be tortured until our npc knight in shining armor came along.
oh, but frankie dear was going to look a little sick at the torture. yay.

I was excited to be a part of and the combination of it getting flaked on and not even getting to play out the injuries left a bad taste in my mouth. I still love this game a lot, but I've pretty much learned I'll need to plot out my own things if anything is going to get done, which has its limitations when you're only a player.
I also faintly remember Pix saying Frank was slated to die sometime during that time, so...yeah, if the Salt hadn't died we might not even have Frank around anymore.
i was excited to be picked as well, and then it just...fell flat. i remember pix explaining to us in a pp what would happen afterward (the capture, torture, mana rescuing us and taking us to hide in that weird monster fetish club for a while) but that never actually came to pass.
i just ended up sighing and writing my character with their injuries for a month or two afterward because it went nowhere.
