i just want to point out here that 'knowing better' has nothing to do with age and everything to do with personality. there are sixteen year olds that 'know better', but some people are just doormats or clueless to the motivations of others. the thing about murgy is that she doesn't actually have any malicious intent with anything she does. she's just one of those kind of clueless types that goes along with people without really making her own opinion about it. she doesn't do confrontation (from what i've seen) and she's not a negative/snarky/bitchy person. she's 'nice' in that way that people are when they can't stand up for themselves and have never wanted to and oblivious in that she doesn't see people doing bad things.
