the pastebin indicates that it was a multi-person plot, tho. the idea that multiple people should have to fuck up their plans just so one person won't be inconvenienced is dumb. it's fine to ask someone to hold off on a plot that's just between you and them, but demanding that people pause bigger plots is self-centered.

idk i gotta be honest, i really don't have a great deal of sympathy for the kind of people who are constantly demanding that any kind of intense plots be stopped because their real life circumstances don't allow them to participate. like that's cool, but just don't participate. it's better that your character have to be ooc than that everyone else have to sit around with their thumbs up their asses because doing anything exciting would bother you. shit like that is part of the reason dwrp is a dull sol cesspool.

i should say, tho, that i don't really grasp why the fuck quix wouldn't just let her switch bands already. like it was a dumb complaint, sure, but if someone is making dumb complaints the thing to do is to just suck it up and unload them on someone they won't drag down. i sort of got the sense that she was just holding them there either to punish them or to get them to drop, which is fucking stupid.

I remember justyne/hat/fedora/airi from other games and she is forever a giant pain in the ass, but as a mod you just have to suck it up and be the bigger person sometimes. if it's not gonna break the game or give the player an unfair advantage, it's not like it's going to kill you to say "oops your contract had a typo in it, you should have been on the other label all along" or something if it'll make things easier for the player or at least shut them up. it's just not worth the pa tittybabyism in the long run, and there's no ~teaching her a lesson~ to be had here. airi is never not going to be a whiny bitch.

this argument is stupid, both of these participants are stupid, and by virtue of being the mod quix looks extra stupid.

The problem was that this kept happening--intense plot after intense plot. And the second pastebin indicated at least one other person was uncomfortable with it, but didn't want to come forward because Quix would flip her shit. So that's two people who didn't want it.

if you app to an a game expecting sol and get angstangstangst, do you tell the mod to change the plot or do you drop?

if quix weren't the mod of the game i could see it being different. if the tone of the game were set up as sol i would understand. but the game is literally "your characters is kidnapped and brainwashed" anyone apping to this game should have known the plot was going to be angsty.

That doesn't mean you run your bandmates ragged because you just want to pile on the angst. What Quix does affects other people, and they get to speak up when it affects them. Quix doesn't exist in a vacuum.

Why would anyone lie about that, when the moment it came out it'd be disproven? And ngl, I'd be pretty uncomfortable with a plot of "young character gets kidnapped by label that tried to kill three other members of my band" too, since it reeks of angst and H/C potential for Quix's character.

In my time modding I've had quite a few wankers say things like "everyone hates this plot" or "I'm speaking on behalf of quite a few people" when it turns out they're either making it up or appointing themselves champion of a bunch of people who are at worst mildly disgruntled, or championing their one friend who's too chickenshit to do anything but agree with someone venting.

Point is, I don't trust either of them. It's possible everyone hates Quix's plot, but it's also possible Airi vented with a friend, that friend went "yeah that kind of sucks" and Airi decided to use that friend's opinion as ammunition in her complaints.

quix was a controlling dickbutt too. but i've never seen one player tell another not to do a plot with their just because it would make their character sad. and if you as an individual are not in the spot to deal with your character potentially being sad because of another character's actions than you need to take a break from your game.

But I guess speaking up on something that would affect your character is controlling now. Also, the plot wasn't going to leave Kido sad. It was Steven apparently getting kidnapped by people who had tried to kill three members of the band before this.

i dont know anything about this game. am i missing something? because i don't see how a chara getting kidnapped would affect their "bandmate" besides the obvious worry/concern. im not trying to be a dick i just really dont get it.

It's that the same label tried to kill the others, who would probably have to rescue him. You know, typical "kidnap/rescue" plot. I've seen others get kidnap happy because CR would drop everything and come save their precious cinnamon bun, and it's tiring just watching.
