well the person doing it is autistic_ace so

(tbh i kind of feel bad for her because i think she's still a teenager and if she is on the spectrum, might not get social things - and could very well hate hugs irl)

There are a million way to show support or comfort in a text based medium that don't involve the word "hug"

But it's literally someone just writing 'hugs'. They're not real hugs, they're imaginary. No personal space infringed.
