I've seen more nonbinary or "I choose to use he/his/him pronouns" Pidges than I have seen actual girl Pidge in memes and considering apping to games.

they also seem to be ignoring the fact that his flirting is more of a ruse than a genuine interest. he uses flirting to get what he wants.

we did, apparently, because that wasn't enough. now there's absolutely zero excuses, if people play her nonbinary they're going against canon as well as the wishes of the creators.

to play devil's avocado here: theoretically you could see pidge as only beginning to realize they're trans/whatever, which is pushed by their Mulanning. they realize after "coming out" that they actually want to stay a guy (or be neither or whatever), as evidenced by pidge not changing at all after the GIRL REVEAL, because they actually feel most comfortable as "pidge the boy/etc". not everyone realizes "oh i'm trans!" in one easy moment, after all.
of course, the real reason pidge didn't change much was because a) pidge honestly wasn't that gendered anyways and b) the voltron writers/animators wanted to keep the GIRL REVEAL a spoiler (i think even from the other voice actors?) and scenes are not recorded/animated in sequence. but if you wanted to write out pidge being a transboy/whatever, that's how i would go about it.
