FWIW, the faggot joke was one crass character calling another character a faggot. Her character was oblivious to the meaning and thought they were referring to a cigarette. It's dumb, but not as wankworthy as people want it to be.
But the guilt tripping and harassing people for tags? That should absolutely be brought up as a problem.
Actually the term "fag" is british slang for a cigarette, but likely no longer in common use due to it also now being a slur. Faggot is not the right term to refer to a cigarette though, so it's likely her screwing up terms again like organical milk.
i still see britcoms using fag, so it's not fallen out in the actual uk. faggot, however, has always been 'bundle of burning sticks', and while i get where she was coming from, she really shouldn't play at cultural phrasing if she doesn't know the phrasing. i wouldn't consider myself a britaboo (i don't even watch doctor who gasp), but i do know the terminology because i'm not a moron.
i feel sorry for her, but she needs to take a step back from rping and realize she doesn't mesh well with others.
Yeah, pretty much it's on par with organical milk. It's dumb, but not the sort of dumb most people would think. We know Selwyn isn't exactly the brightest bulb in the bunch, but this time she's not actual failing to get boundaries.
Actually, what I found more dumb was her explanation why psi_ching_you_out isn't a bad username. Why the fuck would anyone think putting an underscore in the middle of a word is a great idea? The point of underscores in a username is to separate words.
it should be noted that selwyn is not actually british, nor has she spent any significant time in britain
sadly i know she's not totally a troll but stuff like this makes me wonder if she doesn't have a trollish side. she's obviously appropriating british slang for the sake of making off-color jokes and then having something to hide behind
no, it's still used, mainly because they have the common sense to know that someone saying "have you got a fag?" is talking about a cigarette, not a gay person.

If it's less common it's because people smoke less now than they used to rather than the slang changing.
