they have absolutely ZERO connection in game, as far as I can tell, but they became a pet masc4masc ship among the fandom who are grossed out by old men.

so, yeah, it's OOC and stupid, especially a month out.

tbh I feel like almost all of this overwatch cast is a little lackluster...

like I can't put my finger on specifics and I don't have anything against the canon in itself, but I'll admit that it salts my buns a little more than it should with how full up the game cap is right now and all the more interesting characters still waiting in the app queue

i can see how the big new shiny cast can be annoying, but imo at least the overwatches try to get involved with the game and tag out.

otoh we have big casts like Fate or the Basaras that don't even try to pretend they aren't an insular circlejerk.

i'm glad the mods seem to be aware, i just wish there was more they could do.

probably because there just isn't that much canon personality for them to work with right now and characterization might have to change at the drop of a hat to remain ic. blizzard basically admitted they're making it all up as they go.

Not in the game but even though it's one of the meanest things to do in this fandom-based hobby, my favorite wankgate moments are community wtf-ing over people's nonsensical ships. Like those terrible Steve/Bucky logs from Hadriel.

hanzo and mccree never interact in the actual canon (which is the comics/movies/other supplementary material, not the game itself), it's literally a ship born out of "they're hot so they're fucking" with a chemistry that's 100% made up. it happening gradually over time could make sense, it happening after a month? nah. someone just wants to get their yaoi on and couldn't be assed to keep it to memes and museboxes.

but pretty much all overwatch ships have zero basis in canon with a few exceptions (jack/ana or jack/gabriel, maybe ana/gabriel) so i'd say get used to it once more of them start popping up in games.

Unrelated to the doc yaoishit but what's the point of changing AC to make characters interact with each other if they weren't gonna wait for AC anyway before reducing the cap from 8 to 6?
