this is the craziest bullshit I've ever seen. Curt is one of the most down to earth people I know in this hobby. other than playing Bucky in several games, none of what you've described comes close to how they act or even talk, especially what you namedropped them for. you sound like you have a grudge and have no idea who the person you're grudging against is.
"They did seem to like it" is a little bit of awkward phrasing. That aside, can confirm that the player was informed of things from the beginning. Nothing that happened was a surprise for that player.

The problem was with the phrasing of a comment in chat that made several players uncomfortable as it implied that the incident occurred because of the actions a PC took. This has been hashed out.

Parent up, anon. We were talking about a plot where a character's heart got ripped out and they were brought back to life, not the rape plot.
it is true, and that's the exact reason why the previous owners - if they did, in fact, know the dog had cancer, because 'there was some reason to believe they knew' is some pretty weak shit - would have omitted that info. the dog was obviously well enough that it wasn't showing symptoms of its illness, and they were banking on it not showing up on a basic health check, and the dog being adopted out before it became symptomatic and was put down.
that's a far cry from surrendering an obviously sick animal that very clearly needs hundreds or thousands of dollars in care that could, from the perspective of a shelter, be better used taking care of the surplus of healthy animals that will be more likely to find homes.

most everybody refers to him by last name at least but as somebody who used to be in circles where "shota" tended to be mentioned in a porny context, it took me awhile to be able to type out his given name without wincing a little lmao. i also kind of dreaded that somebody would try to crack a joke about it at some point, since he's a teacher too, but ive made it clear that i dont ship him with his students so that's hopefully nipping any of that in the bud
i fully acknowledge this reaction is stupid and it's probably a perfectly normal japanese name. it's just hard to shake off the shittier connotations ive picked up from the bowels of anime fandom over the years

You're right, anon. Going along with mods shifting blame to other players, revealing private information, and berating players in private chats seems highly enjoyable. That must be why so many people are stressed out and crying in private chats, it's out of how much fun they're having.

You don't need to have thousands of dollars lying around, but you do need to have a plan in place for how you're going to pay for any emergency vet bills if they come up, because that's part of the responsibility of owning a pet. That's why things like Care Credit and pet insurance exist. That's why a lot of vets will offer payment plans. If you can't take care of your pet without resorting to begging on the internet, then no, you shouldn't have a pet.

the mod's girlfriend gets to reroll until she gets a roll she likes for one thing (of course no one else gets the same privilege)
this is all so weird to me because i'm also friends with a few players in the game and afaik they're really happy with it? like, super looking forward to tags, hanging on the edge of their seat anticipation for where the plot's going next, really invested in the story, etc. they were trying to enable me to join but i didn't have the time for what seemed like a really involved and fast paced game
