And when Riley was finally exposed, the mod acted like they had her under some kind of spell and only then could she see the truth. She certainly wasn't joining in on Riley's shitwittery of her own accord, nope.

Not in that game, but I have had people pull subtly manipulative bullshit in rp on me before. It absolutely does happen and sometimes it takes a while to realize it's even happening at all.
the ataraxion mods had problems with snow when she was in that game, playing a character from the silmarillion who was sauron's mentor. she did a "player plot" that caused a lot of problems due to playing favorites, overruling the existing mods, and attempting to micromanage other players.
in eachdraich she "stepped down" as a mod while continuing to manipulate behind the scenes, providing inside information from the mods to her friends, making promises she couldn't follow through on and then blaming players for being mistaken when she was called out, and attempting to turn people against each other in one on one conversations. there are multiple eachdraich players who dropped the game because of her.
i don't have deets because neither of those incidents are my stories to tell but i hope people more involved come forward.
now she runs her own game in her own private corner and yet again there's wank that she's controlling and manipulative. she has been a toxic problem in our community for years, i hope that everyone she pulls this shit with starts to bring some real deets to the table. it may feel small to you individually, but these are repeated patterns, if everyone brings their deets it will be clear who the central problem is.

i can't speak for anyone or anything else, but in terms of the ed incidents, no. when she stepped down as a mod, she was off the mod team entirely. there was no inside information given to her, and she had no authority and was no longer even in the game as a player capacity after that, so wherever you're getting this information from, you are incorrect.

I don't think we'd want to teach an AI how to write RP tags. It would probably just learn to hate the human race instead.

She wasn't successful but she really tried. She came into the game intending to have her character be big bad for an arc of about 6 months, which anyone who played in ax knows was too short a window to get a character like that really established and doing anything that big. It went hand in hand with a LOTR cast explosion at the time. The game was half fucking elves and anyone who had CR with any of them were dragged into this poorly planned evil whatever the fuck. Turned out half the cast weren't even interested, just between Snow and Tori they were stuck with it. Snow regularly attempted to fuck with things in the setting that weren't meant to be free for players to do whatever with, and got more and more snippy as the mods pulled her into line. Tbh I was always surprised the mods even accepted her app, the character was some living archetype of pure evil or something with minus actual personality from the canon.
Anyway, eventually it came to a head when the end game she had planned for her character clashed with an in-game event and how dare the mods not bend the game over backwards, trash their planned event and give Snow the stage. From what I remember the mods did their best to incorporate what she wanted to do with the event, but only after one of them interrupted a rant plurk about it and talked with Snow to arrange it. She'd never bothered contacting them. Lots of players got their bag of trauma from it, but she and Tori were still really mad because the mods had stipulated the plot had to be shaped so players could realistically opt their characters out if they wanted. I knew a few people who had contacted the mods asking for exactly that so I always assumed it was partly the sheer number of complaints they'd had about Snow and partly that they were always careful to make any plots opt-out. But Snow and Tori (who really loudly opted out of an event herself once because it made her uncomfortable or something) had wanted the whole stage for what was essentially their in-cast drama... that even their cast didn't want in on.
After that, Snow becoming a mod at ed and turning it into her own little box for parading around evil NPCs didn't surprise me at all.
