I honestly don't usually mind open malleable characters like that, but god they are insufferable. The character is annoying, and so is the player.

You work in retail. You work for the lowest of the low, profiting from the poor, homeless and downtrodden. Literally every day you whine and bitch and moan about how miserable your job is. How everyone is trying to destroy you. How every single one of these people paying your fucking salary are ruining your life.

Grow the fuck up you ignorant slag, act like the grown up you should be, and stop bitching about the very people that make it that you have a job. Either act like a manager, make people do their job, or stop fucking whining that you do everything. You are the epitome of everything that baby boomers bitch about our generation and make us all look bad.

it doesn't help that the character/player lowkey shames the people who want to play open relationships.

assuming the complaining anon isn't just a troll i wonder how they feel about people who larp/re-enact historical battles as they do about people typing words on the internet. i also think the draw is similar: there are things you can learn/appreciate about history when it's something you can engage with actively, and more particularly, when you try to put yourself in the role of someone trying to figure out their own reaction to it. i'm not in the game, but war is a constant part of most major cultures, and the same fight is treated very differently depending on where you come from.

also, assuming above isn't a whole bunch of trolls, don't see why you have to have a personal connection to a historical conflict to understand why people might be touchy about it. empathy is a thing that exists, and all that. looking at a shitty thing that happens and collectively deciding "we should do our best to make sure nothing that shitty happens again" was basically why we have the un.

i'm assuming they mean rosalind mentioned last post, but i don't know about her/the player shaming people in open relationships if she's busy trying to play pokecock and catch them all.

uh

maybe i'm missing some context here, but one of the reasons why working retail sucks so bad is because customers can be notoriously rude, entitled, and just downright meanspirited sometimes, and you're expected to take it all with a smile on your face. venting about it is healthy and normal (though of course some people take it too far, but those are the kind of people who would whine about anything and everything under the sun), and saying "oh but you wouldn't have a job if it weren't for your customers!!!" is remarkably ignorant. nobody gets a free pass to treat people like shit just because they spent a dollar on a bottle of soda.

no. you know who makes you look bad? you do. when people aren't aggressive twats, they usually make themselves look just fine. in this day and age, you work where you can find work. stop acting like how dare someone complain they hate their job as if everyone has the pick of their dream job and this person just slept through it.

someone always works retail. customers are notoriously shitty (literally, as in i've dealt with customers that let their kids piss/shit in the changing rooms because they can't be bothered to get them to a bathroom on time and this is compounded by them dumping merchandise over it to cover it and not mentioning it), but if you're a manager, your staff can be just as shitty. and, btw, so can managers. every position, every interaction can have someone be a shitty fuckass through it. if you don't like them complaining about it, how about you unfollow? jfc, just this post there's someone whining that how dare someone complain that they don't work and live at home, and now you can't complain when you work and people are assholes?

get off plurk or trim your list.

ftr i'm the anon upthread that replied about the mods not being able to fix things if people don't clarify or give examples. OP's link and comment are the first i've heard of this game, and i only looked because i've modded a lot in the past before and wanted to know what would make OP say "these poor mods."

from the future missions link, i looked through the older log posts to see if there was anything different between the tone of the new info post and their older stuff. there are links on that future missions post that go to the tags for each mission. it's when none of it came across as the mods being particularly flippant about ww1 compared to the rest that i returned and replied on here. in the process of checking, i ended up reading about their french revolution plot which included mention of the beheadings aka the terrors.

not that i don't get it looking suspicious being mentioned directly, but i read all that from about 20 minutes of killing time at work and none of it is really hard to find. considering how much time people waste on wg, i personally wouldn't put it past other people having done the same too. not to mention i read all that, replied, left, and came back way later only to go wtf like OP, so it's not like people didn't have time to do it either.

spoken like someone who has never worked a day of retail in their life.

as a former retail employee with a “real job” now is still say it was one of the most stressful things you can do with your life.

tbf in some companies managers do get salary pay instead of hourly pay. it's a way to get them to work overtime without having to pay them time and a half.

as someone in this position, plurk is my only outlet. i've been in a very intense depressive slump this year and all of the recent work stress has been making it worse. i've been literally begging for help from higher ups and getting nowhere, so it's either i keep my bitching contained to a plurk a day, or i shut up ~~~for your comfort~~ and end up having a breakdown because this job is making me contemplate killing myself on the daily

you can mute and move on

Re: PLURK PET PEEVES

(Anonymous) 2017-12-30 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
i'm sorry you're in that position, anon, working a soul-sucking retail job on top of having depression must be really difficult

hang in there and i hope things get better for you real soon

I felt the same way in my last job, anon, and although it's a whole cliche it's important to say it anyway: it'll get better. This isn't how it'll always be.

Like the anon above me, I hope that change happens sooner rather than later, and I'm wishing you the best. <3

she says while commenting on a journaling site

Re: PLURK PET PEEVES

(Anonymous) 2017-12-30 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
... how many times do people complaining or trying to vent on rpanons get told to go somewhere else because rpa isn't your diary or public journal. where else do you expect them to go, anon? maybe they don't have facebook. maybe they have their boss/workers on it and can't vent there. like, seriously. why is plurk where you draw the line?

i get it, you think they should make a journal and vent to no one. maybe they want to vent to someone and get some buttpats on a day they feel like shit. this isn't the old days of lj where personal journals have followers. this is mostly rp for the old lj crew. i'm not going to take my rp character to reply to their personal journal about how sad ash feels for them and it's just inappropriate to do on a journal account oocly.

"if you don't like my plurk a day then mute and move on"

"HOW CAN YOU EXPECT THEM TO JUST VENT INTO THE VOID"

what's the fucking difference if everyone's muting and moving on

Re: PLURK PET PEEVES

(Anonymous) 2017-12-30 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
you muting and moving on doesn't mean everyone's muting and moving on. clearly they have people that talk to them about stuff. why the fuck does your opinion on how ~interesting their plurks are or not suddenly become the end all be all of who's paying attention to them or not? you're free to mute. they're free to rant. it's their plurk. you're welcome to have nothing to do with them.

why the fuck do all of you have people on your plurks you don't like? you're your own fucking problems.

Re: PLURK PET PEEVES

(Anonymous) 2017-12-30 06:42 am (UTC)(link)
of course they're free to rant, but let's be real. nobody actually likes people who go bitching to their friends every single day.

that's the truth. nobody likes you if you make a plurk every single day to whine about your life. your circumstances, understandable as they are, don't make this behavior less annoying. complainers of that degree are emotionally draining, repetitive, and boring.

if you're cool with people thinking you're a whiny bitch then whine away, but if you'd like to preserve the opinion people have of you, then yeah, vent into the void. people are going to stop caring at some point if you're constantly complaining to them anyway, so bitching to nobody is just as well.
