i hate to use the "as a __" line, but for real, as a gay man, as dumb and annoying as slash and its fans can be, i have zero time in my day to be upset about women exploring sexuality in a way that feels safe for them, especially since straight men do a lot of the same shit on a much more pervasive scale to queer women.

let it go, op. it's not worth the anger. i used to go full in on the "YAOI IS HOMOPHOBIA" debate, but it really isn't worth it (and even that has changed a lot in japan, at least, with plenty of young gay men finding their identity through yaoi despite it technically not being "for" them, because it's more accessible than most geicomi).
