sure, that's sometimes the case, and there's nothing quite as nice as watching a flock of assholes flounce their stink right out of a game.

but a lot of shitheads are good at either keeping their worse behavior on the downlow or spinning things so that they come out looking like the real victim. add that to most mods not wanting to make a big production of banning someone, the adversarial light a lot of rpers look at mods in, and just how strongly we cling to geek social fallacies regarding ostracism, and it's pretty easy for someone who's genuinely nice to believe that their friend's been treated unfairly and drop in solidarity.
