You don't need to ask for the specific character, but it would make sense not to follow the rp-related ooc chatter or play with any character from an on-going series if you're that worried about spoilers.
I wouldn't go out of my way to tag a character from a late manga canon point for My Hero Academia if I was only caught up to the anime and didn't want to be spoiled. It's stupid to expect someone to cater the way they play their character just on the off chance someone might get spoiled, especially when it sounds like those spoilers are pretty major for even playing the character in question.
If they're playing him from JP stuff then they should be well aware that everything about his character will be revealed in two months for the NA players.
It's not like someone is playing him with no English version in sight. This timeline has been apparent for a year and a half now.
dr. roman is a character that's been in fgo from the beginning. this isn't a case of someone playing a character that hasn't been revealed yet. this is the case of someone playing a character where their true nature is considered an actual legitimate massive spoiler, and this player is casually dropping that true nature in their tags without warning or consideration.
so no, it is not stupid to expect someone to cater the way they play their character because even *if* they're playing him post-reveal, they can still avoid spoiling people because the character *doesn't have to reveal the info* and their narration doesn't need to either.
it is 100% unnecessary to include these spoilery aspects in their tags, and they're doing it anyways.
On top of that, I'm 90% sure that Exxie just wants to play an overpowered fandom OC by claiming it's Roman's personality with Solomon's powers. For the canonblind, this isn't possible for either iteration of Solomon/Roman.
It's a disrespectful spoiler, ooc for Roman, and godmoding.
This isn't even Exxie's first time playing thinly veiled fandom OCs. I can recall her doing this in Cerealia, MoM, and now Duplicity.
... by saying "i've only played up to [x] point, please no spoilers for anything beyond that"? people do that all the time with ongoing canons/canons that have only recently been released.
anon you make sense but it genuinely does not pertain to this particular character. don't argue if you're canon blind. the moment they put his name down on a list as anything else, it was a glaring spoiler. asking not to spoil past it is simply not possible.

(Anonymous) 2018-10-30 02:18 am (UTC)(link)in this specific case, but exxie should be the one taking care with spoilers. the onus is on her to not just drop them casually in tags.
