So this is something I've been curious about as someone who doesn't play from FFXIV.

If you don't want your NPC to deal with WoL OCs, is there anything preventing you from saying the WoL your NPC knows is different? Like your NPC remembers the WoL being a gnome(?) with a handlebar mustache and thus they're not sure what's up with the sexy elf/cat/bunny claiming to be their BFF?

i hate multiCRAUs more than OCs and even fandom OCs.

This is almost always a thing in games to the best of my knowledge, actually. The NPC either remembers a different WoL, or just can't remember any altogether. In some games, it's a rule; in others, it's a suggestion.

I would not be surprised if anon was exaggerating that it's something a WoL "would" do, as opposed to something that has actually happened.

i can't help but wonder what sort of enjoyment that one oc player who shows up to every bakerstreet meme with a new rich femboy gets out of recreating the same character over and over with different pbs for every day of the week

i like femboys too but id at least flesh him out and actually... tag people

it can help if you want to avoid having to go through the whole "high magic character reacts to technology for the first time ever/everyman reacts to magic being real/etc" stage again, or being introduced to the concept of being whisked away to another world. i think that's what ayrt is referring to by the introductions.

yeah like they have good pbs, journal names and know how to make their stuff look pretty, they're just so... bland and uninspired. it's really a shame

I only dislike them because of how many have forced interactions I didn't want on me based on their CRAUs. I feel like they'd be fine if people could fucking ask before springing shit on others? Like Betty shouldn't have Obi-wan knowing what my character's dick looks like due to sleeping with him in some past game without clearing it with me.

they're a decent writer too, but their default personality type is "deeply unlikeable person" so that's what keeps me from tagging them
