i would like to point out that most players aren't assholes or at least aren't intentionally being assholes. some most certainly are though and they're very easy to spot and remove. at least doing that much will help improve the culture.

Most players aren't saints and aren't wankers. If players who treat the mods badly get what they want, you foster a culture of everyone treating the mods badly.

If players who treat the mods badly get warned and banned, the majority of "follow the culture" players are going to be following a culture where people still in the game don't do that shit.

i've done two out of the three

all of rp is picking up stories in the middle. brand new accounts for brand new characters from brand new media can still bear a mountain of ooc personal "input." with the 3x crau character all you really know is that the player really likes the story of their character, whatever it is.

ive noticed a lot of dwrp is about the really stilted terms under which people here are willing to communicate with each other. the dominant form of communication in this hobby is "simulated conversations between fictional characters." for some people, anything that requires them to get any closer to another human being than that is intolerable, cringe, gross, unstylish. but none of this has ever been anything but cringe. i tell d&d players about dwrp and they say things like "I wouldn't be able to stay interested in that."

the 3x crau just means "higher risk of seeing parts of the human behind the character", but unless you really know the character, why would it matter? you were fake-talking to strangers in the first place. it's all stories. getting itchy about your standards for those conversations just makes it look like you're mad about not getting the exact story you wanted (but didn't ask for or do anything else to obtain.)

And here I always thought the issue was now deku's a werecapybara that needs tungsten to live, shits rainbows and is in a polycule with SpongeBob SquarePants but go off.

and? d&d is a different format than dwrp. sure there might be some overlap in the two communities, but how we do things in dwrp isn't going to translate well to d&d because the two are different ways of rping. who cares what the d&d crowd thinks of dwrp? why do they need to care about what we think of them.

i'll grant you tho that someone may just be invested in their character's transformation with a crau storyline that they'll choose to keep it, but fundamentally if it's such a derivation from the character when they started then why bother keeping it? people are well within their rights to not like that as well.
