I also see it as forcing a bizarre headcanon on anyone else who might be in the cast. I know not many people play Death Note anymore, but if there was someone playing anyone else from that house or God forbid, Watari, they'd have to agree with that headcanon.

I am asexual and this is how I see it. I feel like the framing of"this is offensive to asexuals" in the Pastebin is a little dramatic, as to me it's less about asexuality than it is about failing to be forthright about head canons on intense subjects like abuse that could seriously impact canon mates. It sounds like the L has that primarily head canon for the drama (and maybe shipping?), not anything to do with asexuality as a whole.

tbh it's up there with the "trans saitama" headcanon with how unnecessary and fetishy it is.

it was kind of unfortunate to see the sayo in that plurk, who's a character that is both canon trans and a victim of genital mutilation.

lmao this is actually what i assumed it was up until this moment. never really had a reason to learn otherwise.

dda but what i personally found offensive was the "Ace would be a very clean and neat solution to a very unusual and scarring situation, and it doesn't feel realistic to me" and the "I know a lot of ace people who are functioning and happy adults, which is a huge reason I hesitate to slap the label on L, who is a very broken and stunted person." it's the implication that being ace/not being ace is somehow connected to a person's past experiences instead of simply being the way they were born.
