I saw one person who wanted to play a transformer in a game (ultra magnus I think it was) as female and using female pronouns, not as an AU but completely canon. This is not at all canon but this person expected their castmates to play along as if it was

I mean this is fair but also the TF have canon pronouns that they use and of course male skewed traits and voices. There are female skewed characters as well. It's a toy company made show from the 80s having characters be NB or something would never have happened.

reminds me of this person i saw in a transformers discord server once who repeatedly insisted on referring to rodimus from the idw comics as female

and really, really hated it when people referred to him as male, for some reason

Oh I was one of the castmates. It was super-cool when they accused us all of being transphobic when we questioned the demand (not request) that no characters ever mention or think about the non-canon nature of their Ultra Magnus's pronouns. It was treat UM as canonically a cis woman or nothing.

Needless to say, I think about half the game refused to interact with them after that incident.

I remember their flip out too, how it was transphobic and that we were invalidating them by questioning it/saying it should be an AU/etc. They were fucking nuts, I hope they got some help or stopped using RP as their damned therapy.
