yeah, and this also happens with canon characters

it doesnt mean youre suddenly not playing from the same canon

it just means you dont like how one person writes a character

did you guys forget that mythology is its own canon with a baked-in setting and stories and rules or something? that people arent just making hercules up in their heads just because they dont use icons from disney? that thats basically where we got the term canon in the first fucking place?

the term "canon" doesn't come from greek mythology, which had various conflicting stories all coming from different cults devoted to different gods, not to mention a ton of philosophical allegories and political satire. there is no coherent canon to greek mythology.

the term "canon" comes mostly from the christian church's efforts to create a coherent doctrine, and choosing which books count as part of the bible and which ones don't.
