basically. yes it's from tumblr, and i'm pretty sure it originated from a post that was like "stop tagging characters in posts that have nothing to do with them, no one cares about blorbo from your shows." and in light of the fact that tumblr has made everyone's tags visible to anyone who reblogs a post (you can see who reblogged it and what they tagged it as on their PERSONAL blog, which had been invisible to anyone except the OP in the past) some people are tagging "blorbo from my shows" so as not to broadcast which fandoms they're involved with on the list of tags on a post.
