male characters who are so tsundere they cross over into being abusive, but it's never played out to be self-aware as the abuse. it's just considered cute for one guy to always be insulting his partner who does everyone for him or who has to walk on eggshells around him. seeing that called "fluff" is a wtf.

stock predatory gay villains from anime.

male characters who are built to get the obnoxious "i'm so feral XD" kinnies. "he looks cute but he's psycho and loves killing hehehe". they're boring edgelords to me but they're inescapable in fandom.

that was pretty cringey though. nobody stops hating things by someone doing the tumblresque "i like it i know i'm trash XD". people who don't like the trope don't care that you like it. they're the only ones who have to brag about it when other people just let people dislike character types. it's pretty obvious why some people don't like when characters act abusive but it's portrayed as fluff because it's only okay for a man to verbally abuse people and get away with it.

this reminds me of that semi-literate anon who tried to complain about "the Yaoi dynamics" a few posts ago

especially when they mention "token gay evil character" as if people don't just ignore a lot of the ignorant/homophobic stuff that comes with that to make the character a little better or more fun to play. japanese media is bad with that because they still don't get a lot of push back when it comes to "evil gay" tropes.

never mind that a lot of queer people on dwrp grew up with evil gay coded villains and now like them because it's formative to us.
