Not really. I get it for canons like a song of ice and fire, but some canons have simple titles and they still get nicknames instead of full canon names like enstars, got, hypmic, etc.

I've never had OP's problem about googling it and not finding results, but I can understand why it'd be annoying.

(Randomly I always mistake btvs and btas and get excited for the wrong canon.)

most of those exist because that's how the original japanese fandoms refer to them. japanese fandoms tend to abbreviate canon names and a lot of that just carries over into the english fandoms too.

and not everybody knows that how is someone gonna know what jjk or hk or whatever means even the game of thrones people usually put Game of Thrones/ASOIAF to clarify please just spell out your canon names you're not tagging it for a tumblr post you're trying to get people to know what character you're playing

search the character name plus the acronym.

i'm not sure what's to complain about here. i can understand not liking people using cheeky joke names for their canons, but acronym's are such a nothing thing to get twisted over.

those are some of the la ones i know and i know there's a lot of anime titles that are just as long if not longer that get shortened down to hhgk or mdmz.

tbh i go to the character's journal first for info and then i google shit

if i come up empty-handed and am still interested in giving the character a shot i'm just. going to tag. it doesn't matter when i'm canonblind anyway

it's not that scary tagging a character you don't know anything about, i promise. sometimes it's even a little thrilling. maybe even fun
