so I will be honest that my memory is faulty because I mostly experienced the DA games vicariously, but I did pay a lot of attention to the romanceable women because of who I am as a person (gay)—

what I meant by "diverse" here was (1) focused on the portrayal of non-straight women (so that's my bad, at least in terms of fairly evaluating bioware's overall "grade"), and (2) considering not just number but "type of person," including presentation. the only options DA:I has for wlw are josephine and sera, both of whom are distinctly femme. mlm don't do much better, but I'd have loved to have the sheer difference in build you get from Bull vs. Dorian.
....so uh. basically that was a really long-winded way of saying "ok but where are our butch lesbians whose stereotype we're supposedly defying."

(and yes, just making everyone bi would solve a lot of issues, though i do appreciate the value of strictly gay and strictly lesbian characters as well.)

da +1

can we just have butch stereotype lesbians and stereotype effeminate gay guys and also butch straight women and effeminate straight guys and then bi people of every flavor in-between?

these aren't mutually exclusive things, nor does one "take away" from the other.
