i'd argue the game wasn't bland, just flat out bad

like in an entertaining sort of way, but ime anyone who plays from it takes it 100% seriously and is therefore 100% insufferable because they refuse to acknowledge the cage-shaped elephant in the room: that this man fucking sucks at making video games, always has and always will

I can never take dbh muses seriously but for a wholly personal reason.

When I watched my brothers gf play it I was on acid. So it's forever the game I experienced while on acid. There's just no way for me to come back from that.

i only discovered this game last year. i really enjoy playing some of the characters from it. that said, i'm not `obsessed` with it; i have plenty of muses from other canons too. it's up there on my list of favorites but i absolutely understand why someone would not enjoy this game and i'm aware of how fucking problematic it is.

at the risk of outing myself, i'll admit i'm in a discord with the weird dbh/mcu aus. our server was pretty damn quiet until they showed up and it's mostly just one person with a really weird headcanon about tony stark having a rivalry with cyberlife or something and having a bunch of robot children. i find it bland as fuck but they seem to be having fun and some of the other dbh players are having fun with them. the entire discord's been derailed into talk about this au on the daily.

it's not my bag of chips, but nobody's forcing me to eat them so that's fine. my only `real beef` is that one using icons from the umbrella academy. it tastes like tumblr all around in the discord lately and one other player and i retreated to a different discord server.

at the risk of outing myself, i ran across them on a meme and noped right out of the thread when they opted to take something my character said in response to them in a totally misconstrued fashion and after i read up on their info available, it just pinged too hard as the players i had a really bad run in with on lj back in the old random game/memebells days. or maybe that group that initially took over sws/smuttysws and basically attacked anyone 'icly' with very ooc sjw topic crap until people just avoided the barking pool of crazy.

maybe they're not like that, but i'm on a meme and can play whatever i want with no game obligations, so i don't have time to tip toe through a potential minefield with a character i'm not invested in.
