it's been done, it didn't work, it won't work this time. every time someone decides to "fix bakerstreet" or "fix memes" their ideas get interest for maybe a month or two and then everyone just wanders back to tfln. there's an entire comm dedicated to memes which require top levels for instance (toplvl) and hardly anyone uses it

the community just needs to make peace with the idea that this is what people want and this is how things are now

maybe it's actually not about "fixing bakerstreet"

maybe it's just that that anon wants to try something, and if they want to write memes/mod then why not let them try instead of immediately shitting your pants about how it's going to automatically fail. who gives a fuck if it does fail? all that'll happen if it fails is prospective modanon will lose however long of their life it took to write a meme or three, and wankgate will bitch about it for a couple of months before they lose interest again.

by your logic the community should never try anything if it failed once, because it'll fail again, because the status quo will remain forever and ever lol tastes never change.
